Some shells and seaglass I picked up from the beach, Carolina Beach, N.C. I selected them all because I thought they were interesting in some way--color, texture, size, rarity. I really like the smooth
quahog shells that are deep purple. The Wampanoag tribe, native to the same Southeastern Massachusetts area that I am, used to use small pieces of shell like this to create
wampum belts.
